This page explains how this website works, what it does and does not collect, and the limits of the information on it. Last updated October 2026.
Educational information, not advice
The guides, notice explanations, penalty pages, state profiles and calendars on this site are general educational information. They summarize public IRS, state and other government sources in plain language. They are not tax, legal, accounting, investment or immigration advice, and they do not take your particular facts into account.
Tax law changes often. Dollar limits are adjusted every year, and Congress, the IRS, the Treasury and the states change rules and deadlines. Each page states the tax year it covers and links to the official source. If anything here differs from the official source, the official source controls. Confirm current rules at the IRS website (irs.gov), your state agency or with a qualified professional before you act or file.
No professional relationship until an engagement agreement
Visiting this site, reading a page, calling or sending a message does not create a CPA-client relationship. We provide services only after we agree on the scope, responsibilities and fees in a written engagement agreement. Until then, please do not send confidential information.
Not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency
CPA Tax Payroll and Accounting Corp is a private firm. We are not the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of the Treasury, FinCEN, the Social Security Administration or any state or local agency, and we do not speak for them. Links to government sites are provided so you can read the official source.
No guarantees
We do not guarantee refunds, penalty removal, tax savings, the outcome of an audit or appeal, or the approval of any loan. Outcomes depend on the facts, the law and the decisions of third parties such as the IRS, state agencies and lenders.
Privacy
- What this site collects. This website does not have accounts, forms or a shopping cart, and it does not ask you to enter personal information. Our web server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser type) for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies and tracking. The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this page first.
- Searching. The site search runs in your browser against a list of page titles and summaries; your search terms are not sent to us.
- Contacting us. If you phone or write to us, we use what you share to respond to you. We do not sell or rent personal information. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank account numbers or identification documents by ordinary email or through a web form; we will explain how to share documents securely after you become a client.
- Clients. Information we receive while providing services is confidential and is handled under our engagement agreement and the professional standards that apply to CPAs.
- Third-party links. Pages link to government and other websites that we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
Phone number shown as an image
Our phone number appears as a picture on every page to limit automated scraping and spam. If you use a screen reader, the picture has a text description that includes the number.
Accessibility
We aim for this site to be readable and usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification and mobile devices. Pages use headings and landmarks, links have descriptive text and color contrast meets common guidelines. If you have trouble using any page or need information in another format, please contact us and we will help.
Content and links
You are welcome to link to any page. Please do not copy our pages wholesale; short quotations with a link back are fine. Underlying IRS and government materials are in the public domain, and we link to them on each page.
