Property tax: what the City gets
For the 2025 tax year, billed in 2026, the City says its property tax rate is $0.6192 per $100 of equalized assessed value, which is about 8.93 percent of the total bill for a home in Winfield Township. The City cautions that the actual share varies by tax code. Most of a typical bill goes to school districts and other local bodies.
DuPage township assessors set the starting value of each parcel. The first two digits of the parcel number identify the township, and the Winfield Township prefix is 04. If you think your assessment is too high, you file with the DuPage Board of Review within the 30-day window after your township's roll is published, with comparable-property evidence. The appeal covers the assessed value, not the tax rate. For the federal side, see state and local tax deductions.
